| 内容記述 | The study aims to analyze the interactional verbal and non-verbal behaviors between doctors and patients in medical interviews, focusing on the exchange of "greetings" at the opening of each interview. The conversational data of medical interviews were recorded in Tokyo and Osaka, consisting of 91 interviews by male doctors and 3 interviews by female doctors. There were 36 male patients (14 in Tokyo and 22 in Osaka) and 58 female patients (31 in Tokyo and 27 in Osaka). The average age of the patients was 63.8. All of the patients had repeatedly consulted their doctors prior to recording. The results show as follows ; 1) it is significant that at the opening of the interview, the patients utter more "greetings" with tones of "gentle laughter" in their voices comparing to the doctors, 2) no significant regional difference is found in terms of "greetings" made by the doctors in Tokyo and Osaka, 3) no significant gender-based difference is found in terms of "greetings" made by male and female patients, 4) it seems marked that the doctors in Tokyo start their interviews abruptly without exchanging "greetings". Several useful tips are considered for the realization of a more humanistic and reliable doctor-patient relationship. | |||||||||
