However, due to the declaration of the state of emergency owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the students took the practice on campus. Notably, they were unable to finish basic nursing practice in their second year. Therefore, we examined the learning contents of the practice and devised a method of development for the students to achieve the goal.  They learned in the order of intraoperative, preoperative, and postoperative, and they used methods of DVD learning, lectures, role-playing demonstrations by teachers, group work, and presentations. As a result, the students deepened their understanding and learned important points of perioperative nursing in a comfortable learning environment on campus. The achievement of the goals and satisfaction of the learning were highly appreciated by the students.
