The purpose of this study is to demonstrate that those descriptions are not accurate and that the phrase can be open to interpretation depending on the context, using corpora. This study also shows how important it is to understand the fundamental meaning of the phrase, which is “to express displeasure with what someone said”, when learners translate it into Japanese.},
