Reports of visits to the operating room by nursing students who took the Adult Nursing Practical II (Acute Phase) class of “University-A” in the academic year of 2015 were analysed. What the students wrote in their reports and what they learned were analyzed by classifying similarities in contents. This analysis extracted 152 records on the individual roles of nurses in their practice that the students identified. These records can be classified into 5 main categories with 21 subcategories. Students learned about the roles of nurses that must be given meaning personally in order to be understood even if the actions themselves are observable in the regular process of an operation,in such cases as providing care to alleviate or consider patient anxiety,nervousness or shame due to the operation or anesthesia .
