The objective of the first stage of this project in 2015, was acquiring an\nunderstanding of the reality of kindergarten children, We conducted interviews of the kindergarten staff and\nasked parents about the following matters: the children's development, exercise-games at the kindergarten,\nhow they spent their free periods, how they spent their time at home, their meals and their lessons.\n　Methodology: We interviewed the kindergarten staff, and carried out living conditions a survey of\nkindergarten children using contact notes, which ware being used in communication between the nursery\nschool and the parents.\n　Result 1: Physique of children: Compared with the results of the survey conducted by the Ministry of\nHealth, Labor and Welfare in 2010, our results indicated that the height and their weight of the subjects\nwere greater than the national average.\n　Result 2: Children’s exercise time in the kindergarten: The time for playing outdoors lasting from 30\nminutes to 40 minutes was provided, but no time for compulsory exercises was provided.\nResult 3: The contents of the outdoor play of children: More than half of the children physical activities,\nsuch as exercise-games and games.\n　Resullt 4 : Exercise time at home: Parents’answers indicated that about half of the children hardly did\nany exercises and the number of the children exceeds that of the children who did exercise for 30 minutes\non average.\n　Result 5: The relation between the presence or absence of lessons in the motor system and the total\nestimated exercise time: The children who took lessons in the motor system had significantly more total\nestimated exericse time than the children who did not.\n　Result 6: Bedtime and meals: The average time when the children in the five-year old class went to bed\nwas 9:39pm. 26.1% of the children went to bed after 10:00pm.
