It elucidated their recognition of the student counseling office, their attitudes toward the support of professionals of mental health and their state of mental health. The subjects of the investigation consisted of 520 students in Faculty of Health Science. The results indicated that the new students of the academic year 2013 had a higher interest in and higher expectations of the student counseling office than those of 2012. They looked toward that office to have their problems solved. In particular, female students were more so inclined. The readiness on the part of the students to seek professional help influenced the extent of their interest in and their expectations for the student counseling office. Moreover, their orientation in solving their problems on their own determined their lack of interest in the counseling office. The following two aspects may be considered to be the reasons for their attitudes: (1) Female students were more inclined to seek intimate human relationships more than male students, but they visit the counseling office, since they were not satisfied with their friendships.
