 note = {2012年3月18日から24日の7日間で平成24年度卒業の理学療法学科第3期生13名，教員1名および外部より看護師1名の15名により米国フロリダ州ジャクソンビル市にあるブルックス・リハビリテーション病院（Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital），メイヨー・クリニック（Mayo clinic）および北フロリダ大学大学院健康学部理学療法学科博士課程（University of North Florida, College of Health, Doctor of Physical Therapy program）をそれぞれ視察訪問した．これらの視察をとおして米国における理学療法の臨床および教育環境を学習経験することができた．また，日本のリハビリテーション診療では一般的に利用されていない治療法、すなわち、脊髄損傷や脳卒中後遺症患者に対する機能的電気刺激法（Functional Electrical Stimulation; FES）を利用した牽引式歩行訓練，尿失禁に対する骨盤底筋のバイオフィードバック訓練（Pelvic Floor Muscle Bio-feedback Exercise for Urinary Incontinence）および除痛目的のイオン泳動法（イオントフォレシス, Iontophoresis）などの先端的技術テクニックも併せて見学することができた．教育施設の視察では博士課程4年生との討論会をとおして日米の理学療法教育システムの違いについて意見交換した．今回は教員の立場から視察を報告する．, We visited the Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital, the Mayo Clinic, and University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida. The trip was scheduled on 7 days from Sunday, March 18th to Saturday, March 24th. This trip included observation and friendly exchange of both clinical and educational environments. What we experienced there inspired us to commit the continuous quality improvement of our profession.  Furthermore, we have observed several advanced therapeutic techniques.  For example, we saw a functional electrical stimulation of weight supported gait exercise for spinal cord injured or stroke patients at Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital; we then observed a pelvic floor muscle bio-feedback exercise for urinary incontinence and an Iontophoresis for pain relief at Mayo Clinic. We also had an insightful and occasionally humorous time for questions and answers with the 4th year UNF students about differences between the United States and Japanese physical therapy educational systems.  At this time, I summarized the meeting by stating that the Japanese physical therapists and their leaders would have a lot to think about the future of the profession.},
